Srinagar: The government on Thursday announced to impose restrictions in Srinagar and Shopian to foil Shopian Chalo march called by joint resistance leadership.
The areas where restrictions would be imposed include Rainawara, Khanyar, Safa Kadal, Nowhatta and MR Gunj in Downtown. Also partial restrictions would be imposed in Maisuma and Khalkhud areas.
An official said that to maintain law and order in Shopian, restrictions would be imposed within the territorial limits of district under Section 144 CrPC today.
However, restrictions would not be applicable to essential services including banks.
The authorities have also decided to suspend Banihal-Baramulla train services today because of “security reasons”.
