SRINAGAR: Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA) on Wednesday said that conducting interviews for internal promotions under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) does not fall under the recruitment of vacant posts or new appointments as directed by principal secretary to Governor to the Vice Chancellor of the varsity.
Kashmir Reader on Tuesday had reported Kashmir University authorities conducted interviews for internal promotions despite Raj Bhawan’s order.
KUTA General Secretary in a statement to Kashmir Reader said, “It needs to be clarified that as per the letter sent by Private Secretary to Governor directions have been issued to the Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir, to seek prior written approval from the office of the Chancellor only in respect of selections/appointments to various senior vacant posts. Promotions pending under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) whose interviews are being held at present in the University do not fall under the purview of vacant posts or new appointments.”
