Anantnag: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik chaired a meeting here to review the progress of works under Tribal Sub Plan for the development of model village Bakerwal Chek.
The meeting was attended by the officers of Rural Development, Health, Education, R&B, PHE, PDD, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other departments.
The DDC directed all the departments to ensure the implementation of the approved works at an earliest.
During the meeting, he sought department-wise status of the works taken up in the Village. While reviewing the R&B sector, the concerned Exen informed that grading of the roads has been completed. The DDC directed him to expedite the work on the road.
Besides, the concerned BDO apprised the DDC that truss work on the RIC and CFC buildings have been completed for which finishing work shall be started to make them functional at an earliest.
The DDC directed to start the construction work on the school building, besides the construction of the retention wall along the roadside. He was also directed to identify new works which can be taken up for the development of the village.
In addition, he was asked to take effective measures for making the model village ODF.
The DDC also directed the PDD Department to ensure the electrification of the Dangiwari habitations, besides, the upgradation and installation of the transformers.
Informing the meeting, the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer said that 14 dairy units have been established while as new 11 diary units shall also be established this year.
The DDC said that JKEDA shall be installing street lights besides providing the chullas based on renewable energy for the inhabitants of the area.
The DDC also reviewed the status of the works taken by Health, Education, Youth Services and Sports Departments and other allied departments.
Later, the DDC also reviewed the status of the EKLAVIYA residential school Salia and directed the PDD Department to shift the HT line so that requisite construction work by R&B Department is completed at an earliest.
