Pulwama, Shopian areas shut to mourn youth’s death

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts to mourn the death of third youth who was injured in Jan 27 army firing and succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday.
Rayees Ahmad Ganai of Narpora Shopian succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS, Soura.
Local sources told Kashmir Reader that all shops and business establishments are closed in Shopian and Pulwama while very thin traffic was plying.
Sources said that shopkeepers pulled down their shutters soon the news about the death of third civilian spread in Pulwama town.
Two youths, Javed Ahmad and Suhail Lone had died after army soldiers opened firing on protesters in Ganowpora village of Shopian on Jan 27. Rayees had sustained critical injuries after hit by bullet.
