Indo-Pak troops trade fire along LoC

Baramulla: India and Pakistani troops on Tuesday exchanged fire along LoC in Rajouri and Uri. No casualties have been reported so far.
The firing and shelling along the LoC in Noushera sector of Rajouri district started at 7 am, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, told PTI.
He said the heavy shelling is going on targeting five villages in areas of Jhangar, Dhamaka and Kalal belts.
Schools in border areas have been closed.
In Baramulla’s Uri, India and Pakistan troops exchanged heavy firing on the Line of Control (LoC).
Official sources said that Indian army detected some suspicious movement on Monday night in Gohalan sector along LoC triggering exchange of gunfire.
At the same time, officials said, Pakistani rangers targeted Indian posts leading to exchange of gunfire for some time.
On Tuesday morning, the Indian army alleged that Pakistani rangers violated the ceasefire and targeted Indian posts again, which was retaliated.
Sub Divisional Police Officer, Uri, Syeed Javid Ahmad said that from 11 am on Tuesday firing from both sides has stopped. He said that there were no reports of any causality.
