Dry water tapes greet railway commuters

Pulwama: Depicting the callous attitude of authorities in maintaining facilities at railway stations, the drinking water facility at the Pampore and Kakapora stations is lying defunct.
There are presently almost six drinking water taps at Pampore, Kakapora railway station but none of them is functional, daily railway commuters told Kashmir Reader.
Shahbaz Ahmad war (25), a passenger from Handwara said that dysfunctional drinking water facility speaks a lot about the mismanagement of these stations.
“The Railway authorities also owe the facilities to the commuters, they are not just meant to collect fares,” he said.
An official of these railways told Kashmir reader these tapes are running dry from almost a year.
“Poor quality of water was also forcing passengers to buy bottled water from market.”
Talking to Kashmir Reader, Site sectional engineer said that they are planning to repair these defunct taps soon.
He almost low water table due to dryness for turning these tapes dry despite blaming miscreants for destroying these water taps.
