Shabir Shah getting only dates of hearings from court: DFP

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly condemned the use of “delay tactics” in issuing a bail to its incarcerated chief Shabir Ahmad Shah in a “fabricated” case.
Shah’s bail application was not even heard on Monday and the next date was fixed on January 31, a party statement issued here said.
DFP said the case against Shabir Shah is not even argued and they issue long dates of new hearings. “Once the date comes nearer, the case is postponed for no reasons,” it said.
Terming it a fixed match, the DFP said the judge left the court room for some time and he conveyed about the next date of hearing through someone there.
“Such delaying tactics are aimed at just prolonging the illegal detention of Shabir Shah,” the DFP said. “The justice loving people of India should ponder on what is going on with Shah in a Delhi court.”
“During the last hearing of the case 10 days back, Shabir Shah’s wife had appealed through an application about the deteriorating health conditions of her husband. The jail authorities were ordered by the court to submit the health status report of Shabir Shah but till date nothing has been done so far, not even a single court order regarding the health of Shah has been honoured by Tihar jail authorities. The ailing leader has not been provided any medical aid despite multiple court orders. The jail authorities are hence endangering the life of Shabir Shah.”
