Court records statement, sends accused to police custody
MAGAM: A 34-year-old man arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a minor girl was on Monday remanded to police custody by a local munsif court, after the girl gave a statement, recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC, against him.
Police sources said that a medical examination of the girl had been conducted but did not disclose the results of it.
“The girl’s family, in an FIR lodged at police station Magam on January 20 (FIR no 11/2018 under Sections 342, 376 RPC) had stated that “our 8-year-old girl child was playing with the children of accused Irshad Ahmad Shah at his home at Harde Aboora in Tehsil Kawarhama”.
In their written complaint the family has alleged that the accused took her to a room in his house and raped her there. He also threatened her against revealing the incident to her parents.
The girl’s mother has said that her daughter told her that the accused man threatened to kill her if she reported the matter to her parents. The police FIR reads that the girl complained about the incident to her mother soon after she felt pain in her body late at night.
“It was horrific news and we were shocked. On the very next day we filed a complaint at police station Magam, “ the family members said.
The girl was brought to the police station by her father, who endorsed her statement and also named the accused.
