SRINAGAR: Condemning the Shopian killings, Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) on Monday condemned the killing of two youth in Shopian.
“It is a planned genocide perpetuated by occupation authorities and target teenagers to suppress the freedom struggle and change the demography of the state of J&K,” Bar said in a statement.
Bar has called upon the civil society of J&K to undertake collective and coordinated response to force the Government of India to desist from “genocide” in Kashmir.
“Lodging of FIR against the guilty army officer(s) is not enough unless the accused are arrested,” Bar said. “Mehbooba Mufti being chairperson of the unified command council in J&K is directly responsible for these killings and can not absolve herself.”
Bar has appealed to world community to intervene in J&K to stop the bloodshed and call upon India to respect the basic rights to life and liberty of the people of JK.
