SRINAGAR: Strongly reacting to the killing of two unarmed civilians and injuring of many others in firing by government forces at Ganowpora Shopian on Saturday, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) said “our young sons are being killed with impunity but no one among the international community seems to bother”.
Condemning the killings, DFP secretary general Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari in a statement prayed for the slain youth, Javed Ahmad and Suhail Ahmad. He expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in force’s “unjustified” firing.
“This is a war against the people of Kashmir. The incident is a big slap on the face of those maintaining criminal silence over the barbaric actions of the men in uniform in Kashmir. In fact the so- called rulers have given the forces a licence to kill Kashmiri youth,” Tari said.
Terming the Shopian killings as “cold blooded murder”, Moulana said, “The blood hungry men in uniform only implement the orders of the rulers who in order to please their masters in New Delhi are on a killing spree in Kashmir. Showering bullets on unarmed protesters has become a tag to the so-called rulers who have turned Kashmir into a death valley.”
“Indian forces are showering bullets and pellets over the peaceful protestors who even try to raise voice for right to self-determination and it has become a routine now,” the DFP secretary general said. “After every such innocent killing, the so-called probe is ordered to deceive the people and the process continues.”
