Jammu: NC Working President and former J&K chief minister, Omar Abdullah Monday stressed that the unabated killings in Kashmir should stop.
Referring to the killings of two youths in Shopian at the hands of army soldiers, Omar said “this continuous cycle of killings must end. We all have to end this bloodshed.” Omar was taking part in a discussion in the assembly. “We don’t want to play politics over it,” Omar assured the house.
He said on one side, the magisterial inquiry has been ordered and in the Shopian killings on the other side, FIR stands registered. “As per news reports, soldiers including Major have been named in the FIR, then why magisterial inquiry?” Omar questioned.
“Much innocent lives have been lost. We are ready if you (government) are taking any measures to stop the continuous killings,” Omar said.
