Jama’at urges justice-loving nations to support Kashmiris

SRINAGAR: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday condemned in strong words the “atrocities” committed by forces in valley by use of military might against innocent people.
In a statement, Jama’at said the indiscriminate firing upon peaceful and unarmed protesters in Ganawpora Shopian by forces which resulted in death of two youths namely Javid Ahmad Bhat (20) of Balpora and Suhail Javid Lone (24) of Rawalpora and injuries to dozens others is a “glaring example of the brutality and inhuman treatment towards the oppressed Kashmiris”.
“People here are demanding their birth right of self-determination which no power on the earth can deny them for long. Kashmiris are sacrificing for the cherished goal of freedom and this goal will be turned into reality soon,” it said and expressed heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved families and wished early recovery of the injured.
Jama’at appealed the nations believing in justice and sanity to “come to the rescue of the hapless and oppressed Kashmiri people” and exercise their influence to build pressure upon the New Delhi to give the people of J&K their birth right of self-determination.
