SRINAGAR: Terming the killing of a 17-year-old Shakir Ahmad Mir by government forces as a “glaring example of colonial attitude” towards Kashmir, a delegation of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Saturday visited Qalampora to express solidarity with the bereaved family.
The delegation led by district president Pulwama Mohammad Amin also visited the residence of Sameer Ahmad and Firdous Ahmad and paid rich tributes to them, a statement issued here said.
“The delegation members assured the bereaved family of Shakir that whole nation is with them at this time of grief and sorrow,” it said. “Indian forces are deployed in Kashmir to kill the pro-freedom people on one pretext or the other.”
The DFP delegation later visited the residence of the editor Daily Kashmir Uzma Hamid Hameed and expressed condolence with him on the demise of his mother.
