Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Shopian areas Saturday to mourn the killings of a civilian and two militants at the hands of government forces on Wednesday evening.
A 17-year-old civilian Shakir Ahmad Mir, resident of Qalampora was killed after hit by a bullet during clashes with forces near the gunfight site at Chaigund village. Two militants were killed in the gunfight with forces.
The slain militants were identified as Sameer Ahmad of Chaigund-Adoo village and Firdous Ahmad Lone resident of Ganowpora Shopian. Both the killed militants were affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen.
