Srinagar: Relatives of a man who died after being hit by an “unknown army vehicle” last week staged a protest demonstration on Thursday demanding a judicial inquiry.
Scores of protesters along with the relatives of Muhammad Rafiq Qazi son of Ghulam Muhammad Qazi of Iqbal Colony Shalteng assembled at the press enclave seeking justice.
Rafiq lost his life in an accident at Parimpora on Jan 20.
“He had gone for shopping but when he reached Gurdwara Parimpora, he was hit by an unknown army vehicle. He died on spot,” one of his relatives said.
“We have already registered an FIR in Parimpora police Station (24/018). Six days has passed but the inquiry is still pending. The culprit has not identified by the police” Rafiq’s son Sadaquat said.
“Now we are requesting IG Kashmir to intervene into the matter and nab the culprit,” he said.
