Unexploded shell goes off in Shopian village, boy injured

Srinagar: A 10-year-old boy was injured seriously after a shell exploded near the encounter site at Chaigund area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.
Official sources told GNS a group of people were clearing the debris of a house which was gutted during an encounter between militants and government forces last evening.
In the meantime, an unexploded shell went off resulting in injuries to a minor boy namely Musharraf Ahmad.
He was immediately shifted to Pulwama district hospital where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura in critical condition.
Pertinently, a gunfight took place Wednesday evening at Chaigund village where two militants and a civilian were killed while as two girls were injured.
