Srinagar: A 17-year-old youth was killed and another sustained pellet injuries during clashes with government forces at Chaigund area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday, sources said.
The clashes erupted soon after the gunfight between militants and forces broke out in the area.
Sources said that two teenage boys sustained injuries after police and paramilitary forces used teargas shells, pellet guns and resorted to some aerial shots to disperse the protesting youth at Chaigund area of Keegam.
Both the injured were rushed to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Rajpora where one among the two injured youth was declared brought dead.
The youth was identified as Shakir Ahmad Mir.
