Srinagar: Government forces claimed to have averted a tragedy late last night after detecting and defusing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Pampore area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir.
The IED fitted in a 3 liters domestic pressure cooker was found by CRPF-110 Battalion at New bypass in between Kandizal-Tangpora village opposite railway station Pampore, CRPF officials told Kashmir Reader.
They said that the forces acted swiftly after they received information that an IED was fitted in a pressure cooker. Later it was defused by Bomb Disposal Sqaud (BDS) of CRPF without any damage at 2.30 am, official sources said.
