Gunfight rages in south Kashmir village

Srinagar: A gunfight between militants and government forces broke out in south Kashmir’s Shopian village, sources said on Wednesday.
Police sources said that a joint team of army, police and CRPF cordoned off the Chaigund, Dairo village following specific inputs about the presence of some militants.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants opened fire triggering off an encounter.
The exchange of gunfire was on when reports last came in.
