Baramulla: Baramulla police on Tuesday said that they arrested an 80 year old drug peddler in Tangmarg area and recovered charas from him.
A senior police officer said that they apprehended a notorious octogenarian drug peddler Abdul Khaliq Khan (80) son of Mohammad Abdullah of Zaspora Tangmarg and recovered 322 gram Charas from his possession.
He said an FIR number 07/18 under section 8/20 NDPS act has been registered against the accused.
The arrested drug peddler was selling these drugs to the youth of Tangmarg, Kunzer and its adjoining areas, police official said.
Meanwhile a police spokesperson said that two ‘notorious’ drug peddlers were arrested with contraband substance in Lalbazar area of Srinagar.
The spokesperson added that a police party of Police Station Soura under the supervision of SDPO Hazratbal Rameez Rasheed apprehended two notorious drug peddlers identified as Aarif Ahmad Mir resident of Umer Colony Lalbazar and Waseem Ahmad Dar resident of Hakeem Mohalla Lalbazar and recovered 28 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession.
An FIR number 11/18 under section 8/22 NDPS was registered and investigation was started.
