Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has taken a serious note of the “eviction notices” served to shopkeepers at the Srinagar International Airport by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
The KCCI has taken up the issue formally with the Minister of Civil Aviation through an express written communication and also at the same time, sought intervention by the chief minister in the mater so that interests of the local entrepreneurs were safeguarded, an official handout read.
“The KCCI has made it clear that the chamber will oppose any such move tooth and nail which is against the interest of the local entrepreneurs,” it read.
A delegation of the KCCI called on Minister of Tourism, Tassaduq Mufti on Thursday and presented a memorandum in this regard to him. The delegation requested the minister to take up the issue with AAi at the earliest, the handout added.
