SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Trust on Thursday distributed food kits worth rupees 8,25,000 to its registered widow-headed families at its central office in Srinagar.
In a statement issued here, a spokesperson said, “Food Kits were distributed in a generous function which was attended by respectable citizens from all walks of life who hailed and appreciated the charitable services of the trust during the last five decades.”
He added: “Each kit with a cost of Rs. 1650 contained rice and other domestic grocery items. In view of the severe winter, these kits were distributed in addition to the routine monthly dietary assistance.”
The function was presided over by the patron of the trust Z.A.Tak, who enjoined upon the widows to devote full attention towards education of their children for which J & K Yateem Trust has been and shall remain committed to provide full support to them.
“He also advised them to inculcate piety and self- respect among themselves and their children,” he said. The trust had also distributed winter clothing kits worth Rs. 8,50,000 to these families on 10 January.
