SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday expressed deep regret over the demise of a Jama’at-e-Islami member Sheikh Jalal-ud-din of Kralpora.
Expressing condolence with the grieved family, Geelani in a statement said Kashmir has lost a renowned Islamic scholar.
“Sheikh Jalal-ud-din fought for the establishment of Islamic system and he, as a member of the Jama’at-e-Islami, always worked for that,” Geelani said in a statement.
He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders Mohammad Rafiq Uwasi, Umar Aadil Dar, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, Mohammad Maqbool and Haji Ghulam Hassan visited the bereaved family and prayed for Allah to grant peace to the departed soul, the statement said.
