Srinagar: Terming the NIA action against pro-freedom leaders as a pressure tactics by Indian government to suppress the freedom voice, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) Thursday said it will not bow down or succumb before Indian government.
“Kashmir issue can’t be resolved on military might,” Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chairman, Yasin Malik said in a joint presser in Srinagar. The press conference was also addressed by Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani who is undergoing house detention in his Hyderpora residence.
The press conference was called soon after the NIA submitted a chargesheet against several pro-freedom leaders already under detention in Tihar jail.
These leaders include Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Shahid ul Islam, Bite Karrete, Miraj uld din Kalwal and Nayeem Khan.
A prominent businessman Zahore Watali was also chargesheeted today.
The leaders have been charged in a funding case registered in May 2017.
