A dozen shops, private school gutted in a fire incident in Kupwara

KUPWARA: One dozen shops and a private school structure were gutted in a fire incident in Khurhama area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday night.
Official sources said that fire broke out from a shop in the intervening night of 16 and 17 January in Khurhama market in Lolab valley of district Kupwara, resulting to damage of one dozen shops, some of them suffering partial damage. A private school building was also damaged in the incident, they said. Soon after the incident local police along with firemen, army and locals arrived on the scene and doused the flames. Several residential houses were saved in the firefighting.
Police registered a case and started investigations.
