AWANTIPORA: Police has solved a murder mystery case of a lady who was murdered by her in-laws in Tral area of the Pulwama.
SSP Awantipura Muhammad Zahid in a press conference said that on 21st of March 2017 Mohammad Rafiq Beigh son of Panzur lodged a written complaint at Police Station Tral that her daughter Shagufta Bano who was married to Sajad Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Rasool Lone resident of Chankitar Tral.
He said that Beigh revealed to the police that her daughter’s husband and his parents often used to trouble his daughter Shagufta Bano on petty matters.
The complaint further reads that on 15th of March 2017, he received a call from the in-laws of her daughter that Shagufta Bano suddenly fell ill and was taken to SDH Tral, where from she was referred to Srinagar for necessary treatment but died on the way, SSP Awantipura said.
The Beigh, father of the deceased girl raised suspicion on the death of her daughter. Subsequently, police initiated proceedings under Section 174 CrPC.
“During the course of inquest proceedings, the body of the deceased was exhumed and post mortem was conducted on by the team of doctors of SDH Tral. On perusal of the medical opinion, it was found that the death was not natural but homicidal and died because of fatal injuries to her brain caused by some blunt object,” SSP said.
Subsequently an FIR number 84/2017 under section 302 RPC was registered and accused was arrested on 3rd of January 2018.
