Central Kashmir area shuts on slain militant’s anniversary

Budgam: Many villages in central Kashmir’s Pakherpora area of Budgam district Monday observed complete shutdown on the 3rd anniversary of a native militant Master Shakeel Ahmed Wani alias Ali.
Witnesses said that all the shops and business establishments remained closed in Pakharpora area and transport remained off the roads.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people visited the house of the slain militant’s family to express solidarity.
A resident of Pakharpora, Shakeel was killed along with other four militants in Gadru forest area of Kellar during a gunfight in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on January 15, 2015.
