VC Wakf Board visits Makhdoom Sahib shrine in Bandipora

BANDIPORA: After assuming charge of vice chairman Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Wakf Board, Nizamuddin Bhat on Friday visited the shrine of Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arifeen Sheikh Hamzah Makhdoom Sahib (RA) in Ahem Sharief and reviewed its functioning.
During the review meeting, the functionaries of the shrine informed Bhat that Musafir Khana, Langar and additional bathrooms should be established.
Nizamuddin was informed that the basic facilities to devotees who pay obeisance at the shrine daily is satisfactory but the devotees face hardships during holy days.
Talking to media persons after paying obeisance at the shrine, Bhat said the work done by Wakf in the shrine is satisfactory. He said Wakf will redouble efforts to complete the pending construction work.
Nizamuddin said during his tenure as MLA, he announced Ahem Sharief as model village because of the importance of the shrine and also released Rs 10 lakh for the developmental works.
Earlier, Bhat was felicitated in the shrine and ‘Dastar-Bandi’ was performed on him.
