Trooper injured in landmine blast
Baramulla: India and Pakistan troops on Friday targeted each other in northern Kashmir Uri in Baramulla.
An army officer in Uri said that Pakistani rangers targeted forward posts in Kamakote sector on the intervening night of January 11. He said the fire was retaliated without any loss of life.
SDPO Uri Sayed Javid Ahmad said that firing started around midnight and continued till 5 am on Friday morning.
Meanwhile an army soldier identified as Kuldeep Singh of 8 Rashtriya Rifles was injured after he stepped on a landmine during patrolling in Kamalkote village along Line of Control on Thursday. He was removed to hospital and is out of danger, the SDPO said.
