Hajin: The Hajin tehsil in Bandipora district is without a tehsildar since November last year when the official holding the post retired from service.
The residents are facing problems as the administrative work suffers in the absence of the revenue official.
People visiting the tehsil office for various works told Kashmir Reader that in the absence of the Tehsildar the functioning of the office was in huge mess.
Files get piled up for weeks and people apprehend that there are even chances of files disappearing because of mismanagement.
“I am fed up of visiting everyday here. Due to the absence of Tehsildar, I have to visit again and again,” Ali Mohammad, a student from Sadunara village said.
Another visitor said that he could not procure a domicile certificate for his children. “I am coming here every day to get the papers signed but there are long queues here. We appeal the government to fill the vacant post as soon as possible to relieve us from any more suffering,” he said.
When asked the Assistant commissioner Revenue (ACR), Masrat Hashim, said he had no right to comment on the matter.
“But yes, I agree that the inhabitants of Hajin tehsil are suffering a lot in absence of Tehsildar. I hope the government will fill the vacancy as soon as possible,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Sajad Hussain Ganaie said that Teshildar Ajas been given the additional charge to take additional charge of Hajin Tehsil.
He added that he has written to Revenue department for filling of the vacant post.
“Hopefully it will be filled soon,” he said.
