SRINAGAR: Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on Wednesday paid tributes to militants who were killed in separate encounters in the last few days.
In an e-mailed statement issued to a local news agency KNS, the Hizb spokesperson Saleem Hashmi quoted the outfit chief Syed Salahuddin as saying that youth are sacrificing their lives “which will help in achieving freedom”.
“Fardeen Ahmad Wani (a slain militant) was active from past one year and sacrificed his life for the freedom movement,” Salahuddin said, adding, “Youth are joining militant ranks to take the freedom movement to its logical conclusion.”
Hizb chief also paid tributes to civilian Khalid Ahmad who was killed on Tuesday during clashes in Khudwani, Kulgam.
Salahuddin said “Indian forces are trying to hide their defeat by using weapons against the civilians which indicates their frustration”.
