Jammu: The government on Wednesday said that 430 lakh kanals of land in Jammu and Kashmir is under the government forces.
Giving district-wise details of the land occupied by forces in the ongoing assembly session, it said 7829 kanals of land is with forces in Anantnag, Bandipore (5782.5 kanals), Ganderbal (2172.17 kanals), Pulwama (15276.4 kanals), Shopian (4803.15 kanals) and Srinagar (4951 kanals). Baramulla has 34598 kanals of land under forces while 33478 kanals in Budgam and 12115 kanals in Kupwara.
According to government Kargil has 114859.13 kanals of land with several security agencies and Leh district has 143949 kanals.
In Jammu region, the total land under various agencies is 51116 kanals and in Kashmir, including Ladakh, it is 379817 kanals.
