Jammu: The Leh MLA, Nawang Rigzin Jora, on Tuesday said that he had a solution to the power crisis Ladakh faces every winter.
Raising a demand for power supply to his people, Congressman Jora said that the Indian army establishment should be told to start their own electricity generators.
“You should immediately stop electricity to Indian army from Nimo-Bazgo power project,” Jora told the government.
“Army has its own generators and money, and the electricity from Nimo-Bazgo can be transferred to civilian population in Leh,” Jora suggested.
Assuring action on the Leh MLA’s demand, power minister Nirmal Singh said, “I will see and get it examined as to what we can do.”
