Pulwama: Pulwama: Panic gripped Tahab village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after several gunshots were fired by the government forces on Monday.
The people ran for cover in the area and it took more than half an hour before things returned to normal.
Sources told Kashmir Reader that warning shots were fired by forces after a vehicle jumped a checkpoint laid by the forces in Yasarwani mohalla of Tahab at about 1:15 pm in the afternoon.
Police however maintained that few aerial shots were fired by army personnel as stones were thrown at them.
“Armymen fired several rounds after some miscreants threw stones at them. No incident of any vehicle jumping a Naka took place,” police control room in Pulwama told Kashmir Reader.
