Ruling PDP commemorating its founder on death anniversary

Jammu: The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is commemorating the death anniversary of its founder and two-time chief minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at Gen Zorawar Singh Auditorium at University of Jammu Monday.
On the occasion, Indian-born economist Lord Meghnad Desai is scheduled to deliver 1st MMS Memorial Lecture.
An award ‘MMS Probity in Politics & Public Life’ has been constituted which will be given to Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. Kumar runs an alliance with BJP in Bihar.
J&K governor, N N Vohra, will preside over the function who will give away the award to Kumar.
Interestingly, independent lawmaker, Er Rasheed, too is present among the audience which constitutes coalition government ministers, PDP MLAs, its workers and bureaucrats.
The function was scheduled to start at 11 am but it has been delayed.
