SRINAGAR: Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) on Saturday strongly condemned the “police raid” on the house of party leader Muhammad Hussain Fazili at Soura on Friday.
Fazili was acquitted last year after completing 12 years in Tihar jail.
In a statement, MDM general secretary said, “Police party took his (Fazili’s) elder brother from home and kept him in police station. They warned family members if Fazili failed to produce himself before the SHO police station Soura, his brother will be kept instead of him.”
“The SHO himself threatened Fazili of dire consequences, on phone,” he alleged.
Strongly condemning the alleged act by SHO Soura, the party’s general secretary said police has “crossed all the limits”.
“This harassment is unwanted and speaks volumes about the atrocious attitude of J&K Police,” he said.
