Say misrepresented pictures of girls clicked in garb of Social Welfare officials
Sopore: Several women and girls from Tarzoo Sopore Thursday alleged that BJP workers fooled them into an interaction in the village and misrepresented the pictures on social media.
A group of girls said that the BJP workers came to the village in the garb of Social Welfare Department employees and promised to provide a tailoring centre in the village “so that we girls can earn our livelihood.”
The visiting team, they alleged, clicked some photographs “to be used for official record”.
However, on Wednesday evening, girls found the the visiting team had posted the photographs on social media with the claim that the girls had joined BJP “which is baseless and totally a fabricated lie”
“We were cheated,” a girl said.
“This is an attack on our dignity,” another girl in the group said.
BJP district president Baramulla D K Nehru was not available for comments.
However a BJP women member, told Kashmir Reader that the residents were aware that the visitors were BJP workers.
Police said that they were not aware of the incident, but “will investigate the matter”.
