Sopore shopkeeper goes missing, police form SIT to trace him

Sopore: A 32-year-old jewelry shopkeeper has mysteriously gone missing on the evening of December 26 in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The police have constituted a Special investigation Team (SIT) after allegations from the people that police was unable to trace him for the past nine days.
The missing jeweler has been identified as Tariq Ahmed Malik son of Ghulam Rasool Malik, a resident of Kalaroos village of Kupwara district.
According to reports, the missing person was staying at Muslim Peer locality of Sopore town. Owner of Karat Line Gold Shop at Chota Bazaar Sopore, he went missing on December 26 and his relatives have not heard from him ever since. Malik’s family and friends and traders body of Sopore are clueless about the cause of his sudden disappearance.
President of Traders Federation Sopore, Haji Mohammad Ashraf told Kashmir Reader that efforts were on to trace out the missing jeweler. He said the the family of the missing person is also pleading for the public help to trace him.
However, Sopore police have formed a Special investigation team (SIT) to trace out the missing Shopkeeper. The team will be headed by SDPO Sopore Mashkoor Ahmad and other members of the team include SHO Sopore Mudasir Geelani and two sub- inspectors Javeed Ahmad and Sajad Ahmad.
The SIT is constituted to speed up the process of an investigation so as to trace out the missing shopkeeper at an earliest possible time, police said.
