SRINAGAR: On the instructions of party president Dr Farooq Abdullah, a delegation of National Conference (NC) comprising of provincial secretary Advocate Showkat Ahmed Mir, state spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu and YNC provincial president Salman Ali Sagar visited the residence of Dr Ifshan Afzal Khanday at Gulshan Nagar, Nowgam on Wednesday and expressed solidarity with his family on his demise.
Praying for peace to the departed soul, NC leaders said Ifshan’s exemplary contributions to the state’s tourism industry would be remembered for ages to come. “Dr Ifshan Afzal Khanday was a dynamic, large-hearted and visionary young entrepreneur who practically transformed Gulmarg as a tourism destination for foreigners and locals alike. His foray into Gulmarg proved to be a source of inspiration for many more to follow,” they said.
“He was a friend of friends and had wisdom far beyond his age. His vision was reflected in his hotel, the Alpine Ridge, and his graciousness and kindness was reflected in his friendships and relationships,” Mattu said. “He will continue to live in our hearts and will be sorely missed.”
“Dr. Ifshan Khanday was a young, successful entrepreneur who was known for his magnanimity, grace and kindness. In his tragic demise, the state has lost a visionary entrepreneur. His contributions are immortalised and will be remembered with respect and admiration for ages to come,” Advocate Showkat Mir said.
Salman Sagar said, “Ifshan’s tragic demise had shocked thousands of his friends, well-wishers and acquaintances across the state. He was a charming, kind and affectionate young entrepreneur of the State who was humble and grounded and lived for the moment. He was a source of great inspiration for many young businessmen and entrepreneurs and was a mentor to countless youngsters who aspired to contribute to the state’s tourism sector.”
