JAMMU: Governor N N Vohra and chief minister Mehbooba Mufti have expressed grief over the demise of Syed Habibullah Andrabi, father of Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir.
Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and Islamic University of Science and Technology also expressed profound grief over the demise KU VC’s father.
Syed Habibullah Andrabi passed away in the wee hours on Wednesday.
In a message, the Governor prayed to peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who is also the Pro Chancellor of the University, prayed for peace to the departed soul and conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family. A CUK statement issued here said Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Finance Officer, Bashir Ahmad Haji, various faculty members, and administrative staff prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
In a statement, IUST while expressing deep sympathies with the bereaved family prayed to Almighty to grant peace and highest place in Jannah to the departed soul and give courage to the grieving family to bear the irreparable loss.
On behalf of IUST, Dean School of Business studies, Prof. A. M. Shah, Registrar, Reyaz Rufai and other university officials/ staff visited the residence of the deceased to share grief and to express sympathies with Prof. Andrabi and his family, the statement said.
