Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has asked the Government to stop taxing the regular staff to limit in absence of NHM employees and solve the issue of NHM doctors at earliest.
“Otherwise the regular staff which is being taxed to the limit will have no other option but to launch a state wide protest. The onus will lie on the Govt,” DAK President Suhail Naik said in a statement.
Dr Naik took strong note of complaints of doctors regarding their extended duty schedule after strike started by NHM employees and termed it as against labour laws.
“Governments in-sensitiveness and laxity towards resolving National Health Mission (NHM) employees issue has taken regular health employees across state. We have received so many complaints from doctors that they have been working beyond their working limits and are being illegitimately overburdened by their respective administrators which are against ethics and labour laws,” said DAK President Suhail Naik during an emergency meeting of Doctors Association Kashmir.
The DAK President added: The authorities & administrators try to give a rosy picture and appease their respective bosses at a cost of overburdening regular medical staff. The act of administrators is highly condemnable. There are numerous cases where doctors & paramedics have to continue long shifts and repeat night shifts. This is sheer justice and nobody is paying any heed to these violations.”
The DAK President also said that doctors & paramedics are kept in tiresome rosters just to keep health services running at the cost of their health.
DAK asked Government to come out with well-defined action plan for NHM doctors at earliest so that protesting employees join back their duties immediately.
