NHM employees extend strike for 144 hours

SRINAGAR: The joint coordination committee of National Health Mission (NHM) on Monday extended strike for next 144 hours.
The NHM employees are on strike since last 12 days demanding regularisation of their services.
Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), a representative body of government employees extended support to the striking workers.
Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, spokesman of EJAC said that confederation is supporting the NHM employees as their demands have been genuine.
Irfun Manzoor, spokesperson of Joint Coordination Committee HNM said the striking employees have extended the strike for 144 hours. “We have also held a meeting with health minister Bali Bhagat on Saturday who said that the file has been sent to finance department,” he said adding the minister was requested to consider regularization of the NHM employees.
