SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday remembered the sacrifice and struggle of “Shaheed-e-Danish” Prof. Abdul Ahad Wani saying he was a “resource personality who through his exemplary wisdom and unparalleled sacrifices” achieved a high place in the history of Jammu Kashmir.
“People like him add to the splendour of nations,” Malik said while addressing a meeting held at JKLF office here. A statement issued here said the meeting was attended by various JKLF leaders and activists. A prayers meeting was also held on the occasion.
Malik said Wani was an “exceptional son of the soil who rendered ultimate sacrifice for the righteous cause”. “His name will be written in golden letters and he will always be remembered with great honour and dignity,” he said.
“Wani led Kashmiri nation on legal, political, social and diplomatic fronts. On international arena, he with his distinct diplomatic qualities led the nation of Kashmir and surprised everyone with his wisdom, vision and intellect,” Malik said.
JKLF chairman said the best way to remember the sacrifices of these “great martyrs” and pay tributes to them is to “keep striving for the sacred cause with a single-faced approach and with passion”.
Congregational prayers were also held for Prof. Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir,” JKLF statement said. “Participants in the meeting recited Qur’an and prayed for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir and martyrs.”
