SRINAGAR: Speakers at a seminar in Pakistan have said that New Delhi has created a “war-like situation” on the Line of Control (LoC) to “distract the attention of international community from Kashmir”.
A statement issued here said the seminar was organised by Jammu and Kashmir People’s League in Islamabad on Sunday.
A resolution adopted on the occasion expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people “who are offering tremendous sacrifices for their right to self-determination”, the statement said. “The resolution urged the representatives of print and electronic media to play their role in highlighting the sufferings of the Kashmiri people at the international level.”
The participants called on international community, the United Nations, European Union and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to extend full support to the “oppressed” Kashmiri people.
The resolution also urged governments of Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir to raise Kashmir at all international forums, the statement said, adding, “It also expressed serious concern over the Indian negative policies on the Kashmir resolution.”
The seminar was organised by Peoples League’s Syed Ejaz Rehmani.
