SRINAGAR: Contingent paid Workers (CPWS) of the education department from all the districts of Kashmir held a protest demonstration outside press colony on Saturday, and were demanding for their regularisation of service.
President of Contingent Paid Workers, Nazir Ahmad Dar, said “We are working in the education department from last twenty years. Government announced regularisation of various casual labours of different departments including education department, but we were not covered in it.”
He added, “We are not only working in schools, we have also led election duties from time to time. We are on duty during 2016 uprising. Most of our colleagues have also been retired from the department. But they not get any kind of benefit during their service. The government should also think about our carrier. We are taking 200 rupees as salary from last twenty years.”
“Till now we were an impression that we all are going to regularise under SRO 520 regularisation policy, even finance minister Haseeb Drabu had assured us but I don’t know why are we being ignored now,” said of the protestor.
The protesters appealed education Minister to regularize them under the SRO 520 regularization policy.
