Srinagar: Government forces resorted to aerial firing in Kareemabad village of Pulwama district in south Kashmir as they were pelted with stones by protesters during a search operation, sources said on Friday.
The clashes erupted in the village as forces tried to cordon the area. “People hit the streets soon after the cordon was launched and pelted stones on forces,” local sources said.
A police official told Kashmir Reader that army resorted to aerial firing to disperse the stone pelting protesters. He added that the situation returned to normal soon after the incident.
