SRINAGAR: A complete shutdown was observed on Wednesday in Tral sub-district of south Kashmir against the killing of Jaish-e-Muhammad divisional commander Noor Muhammad Tantray.
Tantray was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Samboora area of Pulwama district, in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
Soon after the killing a spontaneous shutdown was observed across Pulwama district.
While the other parts resumed normal business on Wednesday, Tantray’s home town continued to remain closed for the second consecutive day.
The situation, however, remained under control. The people continued to throng Tantray’s house in Dar Ganaigund village on the outskirts of the town.
