Inaugurates new bank building at Achan
PULWAMA: District Development Commissioner (DDC Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar on Wednesday inaugurated a new JK Bank building at Achan, Pulwama.
J&K Bank Zonal Head Pulwama, J&K Bank Cluster Head (South), Local Auqaf Chairman Mir Nazir and local gathering were present on the occasion.
According to an official handout, the DDC highlighted the importance of banking services in the area and said “financial institutions play a vital role in the modern times for the socio-economic transformation of the people particularly in the rural areas”.
Appreciating the role of the bank in localising its products, DDC said that J&K Bank has “really sustained the local economies by providing them tailor-made solutions in agriculture, handicrafts and other businesses”.
He also appreciated the bank for reaching to every nook and corner of the district and exhibiting full zeal to sustain the economy of the district.
The DDC urged the people to “avail maximum benefit of the bank” especially, the latest technology which had an imperative role in banking and finance.
On the occasion, local people apprised the DDC with their issues including construction of protection bund on Nallah Rambiara, maintenance of playfield, non-availability of staff in PHC, upgradation of high school and macadamisation of the inner road in the village. The DDC assured them that all the demands would be redressed on a priority basis.
DDC also visited PHC and inspected the ongoing construction work on it. He directed the concerned agency to complete the on-going work within stipulated timeframe while ensuring quality on the ground, the handout read.
To augment health facilities in PHC, the DDC announced one ambulance for the PHC so that patient may get a sigh of relief in case they have to travel to long distance for getting referral services. He also assured for the construction of Patwar Kahana at Village.
He also visited Jamia Masjid Sharief and took stock of arrangements and other facilities there, it added.
