BANDIPORA: The Department of Sheep Husbandry Bandipora organised an awareness camp at Town Hall Bandipora on Wednesday. The camp was held under Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA). A good number of farmers across the district participated in it.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer Bandipora Dr Basharat Amin Kuthu was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
An expert from SKAUST-K Dr Yasir Afzal and other sheep development officers and veterinary assistant surgeons delivered lectures during which they explained and described different first-aid techniques to the farmers, an official handout read.
The idea of shifting to organise the cooperative mode and adopting sheep banking was also emphasised.
Saying that there is a “tremendous scope of sheep rearing in the district”, the District Sheep Husbandry Officer appealed the educated youth to “come forward and avail benefits from various welfare schemes” by opening their ventures, the handout reda.
