Sweepers working in health deptt demand regularisation

Srinagar: Safie Karam Charrie working in different health centres Tuesday protested for pressing their regularisation in the health department.
Firdous Ahmad Mir, a sweeper said “we are 499 employees working as part time sweepers in various dispensaries and hospitals of different districts. We are being Rs 200 for the job. How can this amount suffice for meeting daily needs? We should be also covered under SRO 520.”
He threatened to shut down the health centers in case “state failed to regularise us. We will shut-down all the health centers.”
Mohammad Rasool Kumar, another protestor said “We are working in the dispensary from the last 25 years. We are cleaning the dispensary every day. The government should also regularise us. So we can feed up to our families.”
